Jeanene Fowler

Jeanene Fowler is the executive director of the Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH), the third largest health jurisdiction in the country serving more than four million people.
In 2005 Ms. Fowler started her service as Public Health’s Public Information Officer. Her other positions at MCDPH include public information supervisor, program operations division administrator, and assistant director.
Ms. Fowler has held leadership roles in MCDPH’s response to numerous emergencies such as H1N1 and COVID-19. During the COVID response, she led the operations section on behalf of the department, overseeing such efforts as vaccine delivery, testing services, and medical reserve corps. She helped MCDPH reach accreditation and, then, subsequently, reaccreditation status. Most recently, she supported the department in completing both a 5-year department strategic plan as well as MCDPH’s first-ever 5-year substance use strategic plan.
Jeanene is a proud graduate of Syracuse University, earning a Bachelor of Science in marketing and public relations.
