BCHC announces 2024-25 board directors and executive officers

Washington, DC—Today, the Big Cities Health Coalition (BCHC) announced two new directors elected to its board, as well as new executive officers. BCHC’s membership, leaders of 35 of the largest metropolitan health departments in the U.S., recently elected two new directors-at-large:

Marvia Jones, PhD, MPH, Director, Kansas City (MO) Health Department
David Margolius, MD, Director, Cleveland Department of Public Health

The 2024–25 executive committee includes:

Chair: Raynard Washington, PhD, MPH, Director, Mecklenburg County Public Health
Chair-Elect: Faisal Khan, MBBS, MPH, Director, Public Health—Seattle & King County
Vice Chair: Michelle Taylor, MD, DrPH, MPA, Director, Shelby County Health Department
Immediate Past Chair: Philip Huang, MD, MPH, Director and Health Authority, Dallas County Health and Human Services
Treasurer: Gretchen Musicant, MPH, BSN, Former Commissioner, Minneapolis Health Department (2005 -2022)

Continuing to serve as directors-at-large on the BCHC board are:

Sara Cody, MD, Health Officer and Director, Santa Clara County Public Health
Mysheika Roberts, MD, MPH, Commissioner, Columbus Public Health

“It is an absolute privilege to work with our board’s excellent leaders, and this coming year is no exception,” said BCHC Executive Director Chrissie Juliano, MPP. “I want to thank Dr. Phil Huang for his exceptional service as our chair and Dr. Mysheika Roberts, who departs our executive committee, for their hard work over the last two years supporting BCHC’s organizational growth. I also look forward to working close with our new chair, Dr. Raynard Washington, who has already displayed his natural leadership skills on our board.”
