CDC should provide alternate HIV prevention funding for Tennessee grantees

BCHC joins the Federal AIDS Policy Partnership and 46 other health organizations to urge CDC’s Division of HIV Prevention to create an alternative funding mechanism for Tennessee grantees. The state of Tennessee is no longer accepting CDC funding for HIV prevention programs, including funding for the statewide surveillance system. CDC should also establish a protocol in the event a similar situation occurs elsewhere and work directly with impacted CBOs, local health departments, and other HIV prevention service providers.
