Philip Huang, MD, MPH, is the Director of Dallas Health and Human Services as of February 2019. He previously served as the Medical Director and Health Authority for Austin Public Health, starting in April 2008. Dr. Huang also formerly served as Medical Director for Chronic Disease Prevention at the Texas Department of State Health Services and Chief of the Bureau of Chronic Disease and Tobacco Prevention at the former Texas Department of Health (TDH) for more than 15 years. Dr. Huang received his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Rice University, his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, and his Master of Public Health degree from Harvard with a concentration in Health Policy and Management.
